Sunseeker Shipyard

Founded in 1969, Sunseeker International Ltd is constantly seeking new ways to develop and improve its technology. It starts with the basic element of the design: the hull. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has become a key part of design today. It allows experimentation with different hull shapes to ensure the best performance, something for which the Sunseeker brand has always been renowned. This technology is not uncommon in the design of watercraft. It allows you to evaluate the seaworthiness and performance of yachts, fuel efficiency, and try out different engine and electrical equipment options before construction of the hull begins.

British yacht manufacturer Sunseeker uses innovative technologies at every stage of construction: from 3D CAD design to the use of carbon fiber, polymer infusion, and direct tooling methodology. However, there are some things in yacht manufacturing that remain unchanged. Regardless of the level of technological development, there are still no machines or automatic assembly devices that can match the craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. Sunseeker's highly skilled specialists pay attention to the smallest details, whether it's furniture and upholstery, carpentry, or engineering; the shipyard does not compromise. This vision is shared by more than 2,400 employees across all 120 Sunseeker retail and service centers. We know that Sunseeker buyers appreciate exquisite details. Founded in 1969 by sailors passionate about racing on the water, Sunseeker has been one of the undisputed leaders in the yachting market for almost 50 years. Sunseeker's history clearly demonstrates the shipyard's uncompromising approach and desire to always be the best in everything it does, thanks to its commitment to innovation and the implementation of the latest technologies.

In the early 1970s, there were simply no large companies in the United Kingdom building boats for sports and recreation. The first such boat was the Sovereign 17 model. It was launched in 1971. Soon after, the Sovereign 20 model was released. By 1972, the company was already participating in the Southampton Boat Show and actively seeking new customers.

By the end of the 1970s, Sunseeker had achieved strong sales in the United Kingdom and Northern Europe. However, the company had an incredibly strong desire to be the first to tap into the rapidly growing Mediterranean market by creating boats with improved design and racing performance.

Sunseeker has always been committed to looking at things from a different angle. By the mid-1980s, this principle had become an unwavering passion. Sunseeker began to focus on the pleasure and joy of driving and on the high performance of its boats. The company gained greater confidence in its abilities, as can be seen in the example of the magnificent Tomahawk 37 yacht.

1990
In the 1990s, design began to play an even more important role. Sunseeker understood this perfectly and therefore decided to move towards hulls with softer, more streamlined shapes, as in automotive engineering. Together with customers' desire to buy larger boats, this step led to the creation of the Renegade 60 model.

2001
Since the opening of its Technology Center in Poole in 2001, Sunseeker has been the first to actively use computer modeling and design in the development and production of new models. However, despite the latest technology, Sunseeker remains committed to handcrafting its yachts, as it believes this is the best way to create a truly superior product.

2012
In 2012, the shipyard launched its Sport Yachts model line. A distinctive feature of these yachts is the organic combination of the advantages of a flybridge and a sports yacht "in one package," as well as the presence of a built-in garage for a tender. The premieres of the 68 Sport Yacht and 80 Sport Yacht and the subsequent fantastic success of these models with buyers sparked a wave of imitation from competitors.

Following the phenomenal success of the Sunseeker 105 Yacht, the shipyard has built more than 150 superyachts, becoming the leader in sales of yachts between 90 and 155 feet in length. In 2014, the legendary English shipyard launched the 155-foot Sunseeker 155 Yacht, the first 47-meter yacht in this market segment.

In September 2016, the shipyard unveiled the new Manhattan 52 yacht, which became the most striking newcomer at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Its main features include elegant exterior and interior design, large interior volumes and extremely high ceilings (1.97 m in the cabins), a flexible layout that allows for quick transformation of the interior, and a lounge area with luxurious sofas and a table in the bow.

2018
In response to growing demand for larger yachts, Sunseeker International announced plans in 2018 to enter the metal superyacht segment. Sunseeker has partnered with Dutch shipbuilder ICON Yachts to build a 49-meter superyacht, the first hull of which will be launched in 2021.

2019
Sunseeker and Rolls-Royce have agreed to jointly produce a yacht equipped with a series-produced MTU hybrid power plant. The hybrid power plant was presented at the annual boot Düsseldorf 2019 yacht show.

Sunseeker is unveiling five new yacht models at once. This is an unprecedented event in the company's history, marking a new stage in the development not only of the shipyard, but also of the entire global yachting industry.
